Republic day ceremony at Atatürk House

Thessaloniki: A ceremony held at Atatürk House on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye.

A ceremony was held in the garden of Atatürk House in Thessaloniki on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye.

At the ceremony organized by the Consulate General of Türkiye in Thessaloniki, the Turkish National Anthem was sung after a minute of silence for all martyrs and veterans, especially the Founder of the Turkish Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

In his speech at the ceremony, Türkiye's Consul General in Thessaloniki, Serkan Gedik, said, "On this special day, we are experiencing the honour and happiness of being in the spiritual presence of the Founder of the Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, in the house where he opened his eyes to life." said.

Stating that the awareness of the Republic and the love of Atatürk of the young people and children who visit the Atatürk House is a source of pride, Gedik said, "These difficult days we are experiencing show how correct and far-sighted the direction shown by our Atatürk, that is, the policy of 'Peace at home, peace in the world' is. " he said.

The ceremony ended with the Atatürk Children's anthem sung by students from Türkiye.
