Preparation against smuggling in Komotini
Antonis Gravanis, President of the Rhodope Chamber of Tradesmen and Craftsmen, and Nakos Hristos, Head of Komotini Mobile Control Unit, discussed the issue of smuggling in Nimfea border.
Antonis Gravanis, President of the Rhodope Chamber of Craftsmen (EBEP), and Nakos Hristos, Head of Komotini Mobile Control Unit held a working meeting to prevent smuggling.
The meeting was held in the Rhodope Chamber of Craftsmen. The main topic of the meeting was the fight against smuggling and smuggling of goods and products through the Nimfea Border Crossing.
Smuggling is a big problem of entrepreneurship in the country and especially in the Komotini region, complicating the economic environment and competition for businesses.
A very good cooperation in the fight against smuggling has been confirmed, as EBEP contributes significantly to the work and the needs of the service.
The two Presidents also talked about the reopening of ISOBOX at the border crossing, which was donated by the chambers operating in the Rhodope province to combat smuggling.
As it will be remembered, İSOBOX, which was installed for the control of smuggling, was allocated to the National Public Health Institution EODY for the sampling tests to detect the cases until recently after the emergence of the coronavirus.
With the restrictions and the change of health protocols, with the departure of EODY, İSOBOX will now be used to prevent smuggling, which is its main purpose.
Customs authorities will immediately inspect the region and in the coming days, strict and systematic preventive controls will be implemented to combat illegal trade and illegal product imports into the country.
Willing to cooperate with the authorities and do its best to achieve this common goal, EBEP is at the forefront of its agenda to reduce and eliminate smuggling and imports of all kinds of illegal products and goods.
