According to a police statement, the motorcyclist, aged 23, attempted to hit a traffic police officer with his motorcycle. The officer had exited a patrol car to conduct the inspection. The motorcyclist then veered into a lane of oncoming traffic, where he collided with a car.

The incident, which occurred in Nea Peramos, 35 km west of Athens, was immediately reported to the competent prosecutor.

The driver of the car involved in the collision was arrested, and a case file was prepared against him. However, he was later released following the prosecutor’s instructions.

In addition, the General Police Directorate of Attica has launched an investigation to determine whether the police officers on duty bear any responsibility.
