Mitsotakis says 2024 will be a year of geopolitical importance

Mitsotakis, who paid an official visit to New Delhi, the capital of India, made a speech at the "Raisina Dialogue" meeting organised every year after his contacts.

Emphasising that 2024 will be a year of extraordinary geopolitical importance, Mitsotakis said: "This will be an important year not only because 64 countries will go to the polls, but also because it will be a year in which people who will determine the fate of their peoples and the future of the world will be elected."

Commenting that Greece is a natural stepping stone to Europe and beyond, Mr. Mitsotakis called on Indian business people to invest in his country.

Stating that the bilateral relations between Greece and India are "excellent", Mr. Mitsotakis referred to India's economic growth and said, "You are an exemplary country that the whole world should know."

Stating that India is a global power with a leading role, Mr. Mitsotakis emphasised that strengthening the relations between the European Union and India should be a key objective for Europe.

Touching on issues such as developments in the Middle East, climate change, artificial intelligence and the war in Ukraine, Mitsotakis said: "Ukraine is much more than a war in Europe. This is a danger to international stability."
