Missing Dutch tourist found dead in Zagori gorge

A 65-year-old Dutch tourist who went missing in northwestern Greece was found dead on Friday in the Vikos Gorge, Zagori.

According to the Athens–Macedonian News Agency (AMNA), the woman’s body was located in a ravine some 300 meters below the Beloi viewpoint. Her husband had alerted emergency services on Thursday, reporting that she had vanished within minutes while he was taking photographs of the landscape.

Rescue teams from the Fire Department, supported by drones, had been searching the steep and rocky terrain since early Friday morning.

A specialized EMAK disaster response unit has been dispatched to recover the body from the inaccessible gorge.
