Ministers address Turkish territorial waters violations by Greek coast guard

Following the violations of Turkish territorial waters by Greek Coast Guard vessels, Türkiye's Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya held a phone conversation with Greece's Minister of Maritime Affairs and Island Policy, Christos Stilianidis.
According to a statement from Türkiye's Ministry of Interior, Minister Yerlikaya expressed concerns about the Greek Coast Guard's incursions into Turkish waters during their discussion. He emphasized that such violations are unacceptable for maintaining good neighborly relations.
Minister Stilianidis acknowledged the importance of the neighborly relations between the two countries and stated that there was no political dimension to the incidents. He assured that measures would be taken to prevent the recurrence of such violations and that an immediate investigation had been initiated regarding the incidents. He also mentioned that Turkish authorities would be kept informed of any developments.
