"Macedonian Language Center" registered

Florina Court of First Instance approved and registered the statute of the NGO "Macedonian Language Center".
The "Macedonian Language Center" in Florina has been officially registered by the Greek judicial authorities. The center is now approved as a non-governmental organization.
According to media reports, the association's application was approved by the Florina Court of First Instance on July 28, 2022, and the decision was published in the Bulletin of Legal Publications on November 7, 2022.
It was reminded that with the Prespa Agreement signed between Greece and North Macedonia, "Macedonian" was defined as the official language of North Macedonia since it is a language of Slavic origin and has nothing to do with ancient Greek culture.
Some of the aims of the Macedonian Language Center, whose charter has been approved, are as follows:
-Teaching Macedonian to citizens of Greece through an online site,
-To support the introduction of the Macedonian language as an elective course in Greek public schools (primary and secondary) as well as universities in the Greek Regions of West Macedonia, Central Macedonia and East Macedonia and Thrace,
- Support the establishment of pedagogical schools/departments within existing universities in Greece for the development of curriculum and teaching materials as well as local Macedonian language teachers.
