İzmir - Lesvos ferry service starts

It has been reported that the ferry services between Izmir and Lesvos Island will start on Friday, 17 June.
According to the statement made by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, the Mayor of Lesvos Stratis Kitelis and the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer came together at the Fair Izmir.
At the meeting, which was also attended by Despina Balkiza, Consul General of Greece in Izmir, ideas were exchanged.
Soyer wanted the tickets of the Izmir-Lesvos line to be sold in Lesvos as well.
Soyer, who also requested a gate visa from the Greek Consul General to Izmir, Balkiza, said, "We do not intend to make a profit. Just keeping this line alive is the biggest contribution we will make to these cities. We want to see the same excitement from you." used the phrases.
The Mayor of Lesvos, Kitelis, said, "We believe in the cooperation, friendship and brotherhood of the two peoples and between the two municipalities. This is the message of the people of Lesvos. We hope that this meeting will be a step forward for the two cities to become sister cities. We are waiting for you in Lesvos."
The first ferry service between İzmir and Lesvos will start on Friday, June 17 at 09:30 from Alsancak Port, Izmir.
The ferry will arrive in Lesvos after a journey of 2 hours and 45 minutes, and will return to Izmir on Sunday, 19 June, departing from Lesvos in the afternoon.
Ticket sales will be done online. In addition, ticket sales service will be provided in the office to be established in Alsancak Port.
For Turkish citizens those who have a green passport and a Schengen visa will benefit from the trip.
