International parliamentary conference to discuss digital transformation & democracy
The role of digital transformation in governance and representative democracy will be discussed in an international conference by the Greek and European Parliaments and five more countries' parliaments on June 10-11 in Athens.
"Digital Technologies & the Stakes for Representative Democracy" is organized by the Hellenic Parliament Foundation for Parliamentarism & Democracy, the European Parliament and those of Cyprus, Estonia, Italy, Portugal and Spain.
The role of technology in democratic processes, the impact of artificial intelligence, and the influence of social media on voters' intentions and on politicians, are some of the key issues expected to be discussed, among others.
It will take place in the Greek Parliament's Senate Hall and conclude with a workshop in the Parliamentary (Vouleftikon) Hall in the city of Nafplion, Peloponnese, on June 12.
