Intelligence academy in the making

An Intelligence and Counterintelligence Academy is being established as an educational wing of Greece’s National Intelligence Service (EYP), state broadcaster ERT has reported.
According to Kathimerini, the academy is planned to offer training to new agents and personnel for key ministries and agencies, according to the report.
Depending on their sector and specialty, recruits will undergo tailored training programs, it added.
In recent months, EPY officials have held bilateral discussions with counterparts from foreign intelligence agencies regarding the establishment of the academy, ERT reported.
Candidates, it was reported, will need to hold at least a Master’s degree to apply for the academy’s training program, a two-year course divided into four stages.
Training is planned to begin with eight months of theoretical instruction and be completed with practical experience.
