Kyriakos Velopoulos, the head of the radical right-wing Greek Solution Party, known for his anti-Turkish and anti-Islamism, launched a new provocation by targeting the political party of Western Thrace Turks, the FEP Party.
Kyriakos Velopoulos, President of the Greek Solution Party with Radical Orthodox rhetoric, referring to the DEB Party, asked the parliament under which conditions it is possible to close a party. The parliamentary question was signed by Velopoulos as well as Greek Solution Party deputies Apostolos Avdelas and Konstantinos Chitas.
Following in the footsteps of Greek Orthodox Church Archbishop Ieronimos, who insulted Muslims, Velopoulos presented a parliamentary question to the parliament due to the interview given by FEP Party Chairman Çiğdem Asafoğlu to the Crimean News Agency. Velopoulos claimed that the FEP Party was established to protect the interests of some of the Muslim minority in Western Thrace, and claimed that the party leader made a provocative statement to the Crimean News Agency.
Velopoulos said in an interview given by FEP Party President Çiğdem Asafoğlu regarding the removal of the phrase "minority" from minority schools, claiming that she was taking a provocative attitude towards Greece, saying that all Greek governments violated the Lausanne Treaty.
