Greece, Türkiye strengthen cooperation in family and social policies

Greece and Türkiye are taking significant steps to enhance cooperation in the field of family and social policies.
Greek Minister of Social Cohesion and Family, Sofia Zacharaki, met with Turkish Minister of Family and Social Services, Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, during the OECD Ministerial Meeting on Social Policies held in France.
During the meeting, discussions focused on strengthening family structures, policies for women, child protection, and the social integration of individuals with disabilities. Additionally, opportunities for cooperation in areas such as digital privacy, demographic studies, and social welfare services were explored.
Both ministers emphasized the need to strengthen collaboration in line with the Memorandum of Understanding on Social Services, signed during the 5th High-Level Cooperation Council (HLCC) Meeting.
Minister Zacharaki highlighted the importance of dialogue in the field of social policy between the two countries, stating that sustainable cooperation would benefit both Greek and Turkish citizens.
