The accelerating deterioration of the demographic problem is set to lead to a shortage of 515,000 workers in 2050.
Even with an increase in migration flows by 700,000 people, the picture of the few workers who will contribute to many pensioners is not considered easy to change.
This worrying conclusion emerges from the study of the Institute of Demographic Research and Studies, noting that all recent projections of the population in Greece for 2025-2050 converge on the fact that the total population will decrease, while those aged 65 and over will be the only age group to increase, by some 700,000, to 3.15 million.
