Greece is commemorating the 52nd anniversary of the Athens Polytechnic Uprising, with three days of remembrance events scheduled to conclude on Monday.

The historic premises of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) on Patission Street opened on Saturday, welcoming university students and visitors. The program included documentary screenings and lectures highlighting key figures who played a significant role in the 1973 uprising against the military dictatorship.

The NTUA gates will reopen at 09:00 on Monday and will close at 13:00, when the traditional annual march to the U.S. Embassy is set to begin.

Meanwhile, traffic restrictions have been implemented in central Athens. Several metro stations — Syntagma, Evangelismos, Megaro Mousikis, Panepistimio and Omonia — will close at 14:00 following police orders as part of the security measures.
