Greece inaugurates general consulate in Manchester

The inauguration ceremony of the General Consulate of Greece in Manchester took place on Tuesday, attended by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Giorgos Kotsiras.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the consulate has already been staffed and operational for several months, with its jurisdiction covering northern and central England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
The inauguration ceremony was led by Deputy Minister Giorgos Kotsiras, the Greek Ambassador to the United Kingdom Ioannis Tsaousis and the Consul General in Manchester Alexandros Ioannidis. The blessing was performed by Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain.
The event was honored by the presence of Professor George Holmes, representing the King of the United Kingdom, the British Ambassador to Greece Matthew Lodge, the Mayor of Manchester Paul Andrews, and the Mayor of Liverpool Richard Kemp.
