In Athens, protests were held against the government's handling of natural disasters and the planned changes in labour laws.
Different trade unions and organisations as well as student groups took part in the action, calling for a general strike for 21 September.
In the demonstration attended by approximately 1500 people, banners carried and slogans chanted in front of the parliament building expressed that the government was inadequate in fire and flood disasters.
The draft labour law submitted to the Greek Parliament on 12 September stipulates that the employer can call the employee to work outside working hours in case of emergency.
In addition, the bill includes regulations such as extending the probationary period of workers and providing flexibility in working hours.
