Expensiveness check: Who should apply and who should not
The differences compared to the previous payment are that the amount increases to 250 euros, from 200, while the number of beneficiaries is also significantly expanded.
Beneficiaries are the following categories:
-1 million pensioners (from 634,000 last year), with annual individual taxable income up to 9,600 euros (against 7,200), annual family income up to 16,800 euros (against 14,400) and real estate up to 300,000 euros (against 200,000 euros),
-35,000 uninsured senior citizens of OPECA,
-225,000 beneficiaries of the Minimum Guaranteed Income who will receive a double installment in December,
-172,000 disability allowance beneficiaries,
-800,000 OPECA child benefit beneficiaries will receive a 50% increased benefit,
-100,000 long-term unemployed from 12 to 24 months – based on the model implemented during the pandemic – who are not beneficiaries of the Minimum Guaranteed Income with an annual individual taxable income of up to 9,600 euros and an annual family taxable income of up to 16,800 euros.
In total, the beneficiaries of the measure are 2.3 million citizens and the total cost amounts to 496 million euros, of which 250 million euros concern pensioners.
Who does not need to apply
Application does not need to be submitted by:
A. Low pensioners
Low pensioners do not need to apply for the punctuality check. It is recalled that the accuracy check concerns those who have a monthly income of 800 euros or otherwise their individual taxable income reaches up to 9,600 euros on an annual basis. Also, the annual family income must be up to 16,800 euros and the real estate up to 300,000 euros.
B. OPECA's uninsured senior citizens
OPECA's uninsured seniors do not need to apply for the punctuality check either. It is recalled that this category receives an allowance of 260 euros and the check concerns 35,000 people.
C. People with disabilities
This also applies to people with disabilities who receive the allowance from OPEKA.
D. Long-term unemployed of 12 to 24 months
Long-term unemployed of 12 to 24 months do not need to apply for the check. This is about 100,000
Who should apply?
However, an application for the check should be submitted by:
A. The beneficiaries of the Minimum Guaranteed Income.
B. The beneficiaries of child benefit.
