Electric bicycles in Kavala

The Municipality of Kavala joined a program of the Ministry of Development and Investment, related to the protection of the Environment, securing funding for the supply of electric bicycles. The aim of the project is to reduce the energy problem as well as the burden of the environment from the exhaust gases.

The project has a budget of approximately € 380,000 and concerns:

- 51 city electric bikes specially designed for shared rental systems, of which 2 will be for the disabled

- Leasing station charging system, with integrated industrial computer and 4G router in 7 stations

- Anti-vandal locking and bicycle charging position, with automatic bicycle charging functionality while locked

- License to use bicycle rental terminal software, through which it will be possible to rent a bicycle by the user)

- ebWeb-Based system management software, through which the overall management and operation of the bicycle rental system will be done

- Mobile Application (iOS, Android), through which it will be possible to rent a bicycle from users.
