Eastern Macedonia - Thrace products were introduced in Dubai
At the Expo 2020 Dubai event held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, East Macedonia - Thrace State Presidency also participated and introduced the products of the region as well as the region.
The Presidency of East Macedonia – Thrace State (DMTE) promoted Greece. Representatives of the region introduced the tourist attractions and traditional products of the region.
East Macedonia – Thrace State Presidency developed a joint strategy with ‘Enterprise Greece’ in order to encourage exports, investments and opening up to new markets.
The advisor to the Presidency of the State on tourism issues Athanasios Tsonis, together with his colleagues, talked to the participants at the event about the sea, beaches and sun of the famous Thassos Island. The gastronomy, wild beauty and authentic features of Samothrachi Island of the region, also introduced.
In addition, the participants presented the natural beauties and exploration opportunities that can be experienced in areas with unique international ecosystems such as the Evros Delta and Dadia Forest.
Journalists and tour operators, as well as representatives of United Arab Emirates Ministries of Tourism and Culture and Agencies, Emirates, Etihad Airways, Flydubai and Wizzair airlines, attended the presentation. The products grown in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace with the characteristics of a long history and tradition were introduced.
With the presentation, the guests toured a world of flavors that captured the wonderful and multidimensional gastronomy of East Macedonia - Thrace, guided by unique local products such as golden honey, roasted chickpeas, tahini, oil, sauces and wine.
The event titled "Touristic places to visit in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace" was held on Sunday, March 27.
Within the scope of the event, outstanding expectations and opportunities in eight sectors of the Greek economy, technology and innovation, energy, maritime, tourism and culture, human capital, industry, agriculture-food and health sciences were discussed.
