The Greek Coast Guard said one of its vessels found the headless body of a man in the sea off the northeastern coast of Lesvos, in the eastern Aegean, on Thursday morning.

The Greek Coast Guard said one of its vessels found the headless body of a man in the sea off the northeastern coast of Lesvos, in the eastern Aegean, on Thursday morning. 

The grim discovery was made in the Tsonia area of ​​the island. The body was 1.20 meters tall and was wearing blue jeans, a green shirt and socks. It was also missing the left arm.

The body was recovered and transported to the Forensic Medical Service of the North Aegean for an autopsy. A preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Central Port Authority of Mytilene.
