It was stated that an explosion occurred late at night in front of a building in Athens' Patissia district, which includes a mosque.

A handmade explosive device containing screws and nails was detonated by unidentified persons at around 03:30 at night (23 January 2022) in front of the building where the mosque is located in the Patissia district.

According to the information obtained from the police officials, in the explosion place there is a mosque where Muslims pray inside the building.

No one was killed or injured in the explosion. İt was stated that the front of the building and the vehicles parked on the side of the road were damaged.

The claim made regarding the incident is that the attack was carried out by the extreme right.

Police launched an investigation into the explosion.
