Tax authority's annual report for 2023 presented to parliament president
The annual report of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) for 2023 was presented by AADE Governor George Pitsilis to Parliament President Constantine Tassoulas on Tuesday.
The report was accompanied by the schedule of actions for 2024.
Pitsilis mentioned that in 2023 the tax service's priorities were to improve taxation compliance and to serve citizens and businesses better by digitizing services and procedures, a statement by the parliament said. AADE's head noted that public revenues exceeded the target by 4.4 billion euros, adding that 102,573 tax and 106,680 customs inspections took place in 2023. In addition, a total of 2.4 million requests by citizens and businesses were processed, and nearly 7 billion euros in taxes returned.
Tassoulas said he would forward the report to the two relevant committees (on economic affairs and on institutions & transparency), for the deputies' briefing.
