Price reduction tags within about 10 days

The general manager of the Association of Supermarkets of Greece, Apostolos Petalas, stated that the marking is a process that requires time as it concerns 4,200 stores and new codes are being added every day. However, signs have already been placed in some large supermarkets, but it will take approximately 10 days to place the tags in all stores.

As Petalas pointed out, the marking will not be the same in all supermarkets as it is an initiative and each business chooses its own way for special marking.

In the meantime, according to sources, the initiative has developed momentum and every day the competent services of the Ministry of Development are informed of new codes added to the list.

As market sources report, it is estimated that in the renewed list that will be announced next week by the political leadership of the ministry, the number of codes will be close to the initial target of 600 and, soon, it is expected to exceed it.

The latest updated list of product codes that have joined the price reduction initiative included 362 product codes and the reductions range from 5% to 24%.
