Out-of-court debt settlements expanded 35.7% in March

According to a National Economy and Finance Ministry announcement on Friday, there were 1,475 settlements agreed in March, corresponding to 454 million euros in debts, compared to 1,087 settlements corresponding to €355 million in debts last year.

New applications and final submissions of applications remained at high levels in March 2025, totaling 5,340 and 3,080 applications, respectively.

At the same time, 3,173 vulnerable households benefited from debt settlement arrangements in accordance with the legally established mandatory obligation, recording an increase of 31% compared to December 2024.

To date, the total number of successful settlement arrangements amounts to 33,432 and the total value of debt settlements stands at €10.9 billion.
