More expensive coffee from now on: New increases are coming soon!

Already in  wholesale  there is a 40-45% increase in the  Arabica  variety and by 65% ​​in the  Robusta variety  according to the President of the Hellenic Coffee Union,  Tassos Giagoglou .

" If this phenomenon of upward trends in the  stock markets  continues , coffee will obviously become more expensive, " said the President of the Hellenic Coffee Union, speaking on the show "Weekend from 6".

According to market executives,  consumers will also see large increases on supermarket shelves . Espresso in capsules from 5 euros is expected to climb to 6 euros and ground espresso from 6 to 7.2 euros. Accordingly,  the Greek coffee from 3.9 is estimated to reach 4.7 euros .

For their part, restaurant owners,  after the return of the VAT on served coffee to 24% ,  announce new increases in case the price of the raw material rises .
