A subsidy of 1.5 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh) has been applied to electricity tariffs for January, according to a statement from the Ministry of Environment and Energy. As a result, the final price for consumers is approximately 14 cents per kWh.

A subsidy of 1.5 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh) has been applied to electricity tariffs for January, according to a statement from the Ministry of Environment and Energy. As a result, the final price for consumers is approximately 14 cents per kWh.

The subsidies for household tariffs – available without income criteria and regardless of provider – are as follows:

For monthly consumption up to 500 kWh, the subsidy is set at €15 per MWh, or 1.5 cents per kWh. This category covers 90% of households in Greece.

For households eligible for the Social Household Tariff, the subsidy is €35 per MWh, or 3.5 cents per kWh, for total consumption.

The total cost of the subsidy for January is €20.9 million.
