Kosovo Prime Minister: Serbia is working on military plans to annex our territory

Kurti made statements on the agenda and opportunities for regional cooperation at the panel titled "Berlin Process: Achievements so far, Expectations from the upcoming Summit and Possible Benefits of Regional Initiatives towards the Common Market" organised by the Institute for Political Studies in Pristina (PIPS).
"While we are sitting at the dialogue table in Brussels and at the Berlin Process Summit to reach an agreement for the future, Serbia, as we saw a week ago, is working on military plans to annex our territory. This shows that our northern neighbour is not interested in regional cooperation for EU membership."
Kurti pointed out that Serbia should be held to account for its behaviour and said that the Kosovo government has a clear position on regional cooperation, which should be based on the equality of the parties and European standards.
Kurti said that Kosovo had ratified three regional agreements reached by countries in the region as part of the Berlin Process, but regretted that some countries had not ratified the agreements.
The Berlin Process was established in 2014 in Berlin, the capital of Germany, in order to increase cooperation between the 6 Western Balkan countries consisting of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Montenegro and Serbia and to promote effective cooperation between the EU and the region.
The next summit of the Berlin Process will take place on 16 October in the Albanian capital Tirana.
