Istanbul-Plovdiv flights start
The first scheduled Istanbul-Plovdiv passenger flight took place on Saturday, February 18th.
The first plane belonging to Pegasus Airlines, which took off from Istanbul "Sabiha Gökçen" airport, landed at Plovdiv Airport on Saturday, February 18th.
The first plane that took off from Istanbul and reached Plovdiv was welcomed by Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Transport Nikolay Noydenov.
The flights, which will connect Plovdiv to Istanbul, and from there to the whole world, are expected to further strengthen the cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of tourism.
It was noted that reciprocal Istanbul-Plovdiv flights will be organized twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Providing fast, safe, and cheap transportation to Istanbul for those living in Plovdiv and its wider surroundings, the airline will also enable Bulgarian citizens to reach all over the world quickly through Istanbul airport.
On the other hand, it was stated that the plane, which made the first Plovdiv expedition, carried the aid collected for earthquake victims in Türkiye in and around Plovdiv on its return from Istanbul.
