2000 people gathered at the traditional Kurban in Zlatograd

Residents and guests of Zlatograd gathered again for the traditional Berekhet Kurban in the city, which was organized on the initiative of the Muslim Board and with the support of the Mufti of the Municipality in Zlatograd.

Nearly 2000 portions of the Kurban were prepared and distributed to the people of the city.

Official guests of the event were the District Mufti of Smolyan Nedjmi Dabov, the District Mufty of Ruse Yudhel Hyusnyu, the Deputy District Mufti Of Zlatograd Bayram Ushev, Director of the Momchilgrad Spiritual School Nurettin Chakar, imams, representatives of Muslim boards, public and business representatives.

The sacrifice was accompanied by a religious program with the participation of alumni of the Hafiz Course "Hafz Murad Haji"  from the city of Madan. They read signs from the Holy Quran translated into Bulgarian.

In his welcoming speech, Deputy District Mufti Bayram Ushev thanked the residents of Zlatograd and all participants in the preparation and conducting of the traditional Kurban, through which they once again express their gratitude to the Supreme.

Bayram Ushev recalled that the tradition was interrupted for two years due to the pandemic and stressed that during this time people realized the invaluable blessing bestowed upon us by Allah, namely health.
 "The Almighty Allah has bestowed us with countless blessings. The greatest among them is the perfect religion which He sent to mankind. The believer’s behavior requires him to be grateful to the Creator, and for the gratitude shown, his grace and blessings will be increased to him,” said the district Mufti of Smolyan Nejmi Dubov.

The program ended with a dua for prosperity made by the Imam of the town of Zlatograd Hussein Kamberov.
